Non-IHC Guy needs some quick advice on price

Hi1

My neighbor has a gas 424 that runs pretty fair (has a cracked exhaust side manifold). It was a tough starter, but I tuned it up for him and runs very smooth now. He has been asked by a local fellow if he would sell it so the neighbor asked me if I knew what a fair price for it might be. I told him I have no idea (I am not interested in it).

I know it's tough to hazard a guess on a machine that you have not seen, but this guy just needs a High end/Low end to start off with. I have no idea, but I would think he is in the neighborhood of maybe $2500. Tires are decent.

Or, is there a place to go to find any recent auction prices or a blue book pricing guide?

Thanks for any help you can give me on this.

Frank

If you look to your left
<---, you can search through the Photo Ad Archive or the Tractor Values section and see what people have been getting for them.

actaully, if you look at the ads on the side of the page you will see what folks are asking. getting is a differnt story.

in my neiborhood this rig if, in good shape, nothing broke, and no major leaks, is a 2500-3500 asker. getting price will be what both men think they can live with.
