Well I gave in and purchased a 1958 Cub so that I had something with a sickle bar. Used it first time this Sunday. My land is a not all that flat and I found the Cub to be a little tippy.I plan to put new tires on the back right away, do you all think spaceing the tires/wheels all the way out is worth the effort or not? Thanks

Steve, dish the rear centers out and leave the front alone. This will give a lot of added stability. That's the way I run my cub with the sickle bar attached.

It'll be a whole lot more stable on those hills.

My Cub is set as narrow as possible to get the wheels in behind the 60" mower deck. I just use a little "body english" to keep the old girl upright on the side hills, though it hasn't really felt like it was going to tip over.

The engine side is always on the uphill side of the equation, which helps I think.

I have never had a problem with the wheel spacing on the cub. The front is out a couple of notches but the back is on the standard sitting. I have no trouble with it being tipping when I went over uneven ground
