Found a 400 and a 706 for sale the other day at different locations, no fast hitch and LPTO was gone and both had a plate installed over the hole. Found a nice original, fully optioned Farmall 300 yesterday and it did still have a fast hitch, belt pulley. original sealed beam lights, weights, fenders, and TA,----- yup you guessed it, the PTO was gone and had a nice freshly painted plate over the hole. What gives??? Are there PTO thieves running amuck, is it a ring of PTO thieves? I like the 100 series Farmalls, but without a PTO its useless to me. Has anyone else noticed this? Van

Van: I think a lot of older tractors fall into the hands of people, who never intend to use them for farming. Everytime something breaks or fails they just eliminate it if possible. Just amazing how much you can have wrong with an old tractor and still haul in the firewood. Kind of a shame, as those items are costly enough to rebuild let along hunt one down.
