Extreemly nice SA. It doesn"t get much better than that, does it? I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 40 model.

JR: What is the tractors serial number? I'm thinking Super A1. Photo doesn't show quite clear enough to be sure. The spark plugs are quite visable. A Super A1 has about 2.5" between hydraulic touch control and fuel tank, thus the entire hood is higher. Super A1 serial numbers run from 356001 and 357895, so only 1,957 were ever built, quite rare. I have never seen one.

Your tractor also has the lights used on Super A1 tractors.

Hugh, I could be wrong, (certainly woudn"t be shocking news), but this tractor appears to be a Super A not a Super A1. The A1 added an extra inch between the bottom slot in the hood and the seam, plus an extra inch on the lower grill pan. This one appears to have the usual 3/4 inch span between the bottom slot and the lower gril pan. Serial number would trump all debate, however.

Paul: Yes, I agree with what your saying, and that is why I wanted more info. It does however appear, (and the angle of photo is not quite right) the fuel tank may be raised.

I also noticed one can see the spark plugs clearly, this is the case with my 130 and 140 but not so with my SA. The SA hood being lower, to some extent does hide the plugs.

JR: That settles the A1 theory. I do notice by your serial number J indicates you have Rockford clutch. My 53 SA serial number 336977, did not have Rockford clutch when new. It happened somewhere between the two.

Your tractor looks very sharp. You have done an excellent job on restoration. I'm in bit of a rush right now but will view those show picture later. Thanks.
