I am looking for a new muffler for the B-275 diesel I have been working on.

It is a transverse setup underneath the floorboards, and is a very small muffler. Approximately 12" long body with 1 3/4" inlet and a 1 1/2" outlet.

Has anyone found a source for them? The dealer says they are discontinued, and TSC and everyone else only seems to have a listing for a vertical exhaust stack (NFG I have a loader).

Help Please! :)

I am nearing the completion of my hydrostatic steering conversion so I will be posting lots of pix soon... probably going to redo the loader first though...

Derek,
There were two different underslung mufflers for the B275 depending on the age of the tractor. The older version is not available,(and hasn't been for a long long time) The newer muffler is #3106834R2 and is a current part available from any CaseIH dealer. If your tractor still had the old type, the new one will work by reshaping the exhaust pipe slightly. The only problem is that this muffler is quite expensive.

Derek, I have a B250 with a loader and I have a vertical exhaust, all kinds of room on the hood. It looks to me like the exhaust manifolds can be removed and turned upside down, this feature allows for the underneath version or vertical, all you need is a new exhaust gasket, a muffler and a saws-all to cut out the opening. I have one pen in the barn where the sleeper beam is low so I just pull the muffler off when I do that part of the barn, otherwise works fine and keeps the fumes above the driver no matter what the work....Mike in Exeter Ontario

We have a local muffler shop that makes stainless steel exhaust for cars, tractors, whatever. If you can't find one I'm sure a shop could make you one.
