I changed the pto on my 1940 H. When I started it, it began to make an awful noise in the trany.
Don't you just unbolt the old one, remove it and
then simply slide the new one in?

For the M there are 3 different types. My original one was for 1941. I changed to the new type. It required changing the counter shaft. The old type had a slotted type connection and the new one had splines. The old one would slip and make a clicking sound, which sounded like the rear end was comming apart. The new type connection is much imporved!
