Well, it ended up being an eventful day for us! My son and I went to an auction this morning. There were many treasures to be found (Including Farmall Cub number 666) it went for $2900.

Long story short, we purchased a Farmall 230. Of course we were 30 miles from home and my 11 year old doesn't drive the truck! We came home and my wife joined us for the trip home. Of course, it poured rain all the way home. 2 1/2 hours at 15 mph!

It is a 1957 model serial # 1952----it came with a very nice platform carrier and as you can see, an extra set of brand new rims/tires too. it has been refurbished, I wouldn't say restored though. There are a couple of things to tinker with though. We will put the extra rims and tires on our C that we are restoring now so that was kind of a bonus. The front frame weights are a bit unusual....at least I haven't seen many of them around. The fenders that are on it are for an H or M, so I will need to do some swapping I guess.

Our family now has a 49 C, a 51 super C and the 57 230. I suppose someday we will get the 200 and be done with the series. I know my wife won't think we need to do that anytime soon!

If anyone needs the bands and bolts to make a dual set like you see, I will be selling them later on after we take them apart.

Mark

Was that the auction in Norhern N. Dakota? How did those Farmall A'a and 140's sell?

Yeah, the auction was there....the 140 and two bottom plow went for $4100 and the A went for $2900....It was decent, but had a stuck valve or something.

The weights are org. Bolt the two sides on and you could mount a flat weight on front and keep adding, with the front wheels weights, gives a lot ballast on the front.

Good looking 230. What a find. Wish my 230 looked half that good. Good little tractor; nothing handles better.

Congratulations! Good-looking tractor. Good to see the generator and assume it's still 6 volts. You'll have a lot of fun with it.
