I have a row crop 300 and love it,it is a workhorse. I was running it and shutting it down to fill the loader and when I went to start it it wouldn't go .Checked the battery and it was good as the connections to the solenoid. also power to the solenoid. do the starters stick like my old ford 8n? also how much oil does the 300 hold ?

HI guys ,I pulled the starter and it was the bendix. it was stuck so all is well and it is back to running again.I won't be turning it off and on ,just going to let it idle when i have to use a shovel.

Carlton,
If you have been starting and shutting off a lot you could be draining the battery and not running enough to charge it back up. I would put a good charge on the battery first and check all connections and cables prior to buying a starter.

I wonder if you are having drive problems like my 300U.Either the blasted drive kicks back too far and wont "screw" itself forward,or it sticks in the forward position.

Search the archives here for Starter problems, All the answers, and some not needed are in the data. It is an issue, but not hard to repair. Key off, in high gear, rock tractor pushing forward and back violently on the top of one rear tire till you hear a loud click and the fan moves. Perseverence!
