I need to change the support that holds the amp box, steering wheel shaft, hyd. lever. The problem i"ve run into is the nut for the steering wheel is seized on there(someone has banged the extra threads over so its mushroomed over the nut). I cannot remove the support without removing that (correct?). Does the steering yoke screw into the shaft? What would be the best way of replacing this item? Thanks

You can remove the rivet through the top of the support and remove the steering shaft bushing. I ground the head off of the 1/4 inch rivet and drove the rivet out with a punch. That's the easy part, then put a jack of some kind under the steering shaft up close to the bushing and work on it with a mallet, (not hammer, it will break)
The bushing extends down in the pipe support a couple of inches.

KFOX, I tried that method on my M, worked at it for about half a day, never did get it to let go.

I've removed two H bushings from the supports. One was easy. It appeared to have been replaced sometime and the revit wasen't tight. The other one was a bear, but I beat on it with a wooden mallet and blockes of wood till it finally came out. I was getting ready to apply some heat when it finally came loose. ken

I would try grinding off the mushroomed over end. Then you should be able to get the nut off. The yoke is welded on.

Sounds like a good idea, the nut is already damaged beyond use. Grind it off, hack saw or whatever.

If cutting it off seems too short stroked, Id use a cold chisel on it. Put a piece of square bar stock under the rusty nut, and on top of a blocked up hydraulic jack. apply enough lift to tightrn in thesquare stock, not bend the shaft, Then use a sharp cold chisel to put a serious nick in the opposite flat. Turn the system and have at the next flat. if your grooves are 1/8 inch deep, two or three flats with grooves will loosen up the threads. Use PB blaster as well, and grind off the mushroomed threads.
This will work!!
