I was taking things apart today on the bn because i need to replace the manifold. And while i was doing this i noticed a bolt/pipe plug that you can take out that is in the manifold just above where the carb mounts. Does anyone know what this is for. And where is a good place to purchase a new manifold. Thanks Mike

Mike, I e-mailed you OEM`s web-page from here but I have no way of knowing if you received it. Also I found another new manifold for $95.

I was always told that the plugged hole was for a hook-up to run vacuum devices such as a milking maching. "OEM" has new BN manifolds in there catalog for $114.50.

That was a place to get vaccuum . A lot of dairy farmers used tractors to run vaccuum operated milk machines in case of a power falure. Some had a petcock installed on manifold for that. We used the C once and it would run 2 Surge buckets if you were careful starting them out. Worked best at idle speed, more vaccuum then.
