Tire Sizes for F-20 Spokes?

I just picked up spoke rims for my 1930 Regular, off of a 1930"s F-20. The rear rims measure 28 x 8", the front measure 16 X 4.5". There seems to be two or three sizes of tires and brands out there. What"s the best size/brand for plain old running round, showing the tractor (not pulling)? Size-wise, one local dealer said 11.2 X 28 rears and 600 X 16" fronts. Does that sound right? What can I expect to pay (new)? Thanks!

The sizes you mention would be fine. The 11.2 28s would be the small end of the range and most working tractors used a size of 2 wider. I'd probably go with a 12.4 0r 13.6 depending on price.

you could use wider tires on the back if you wanted to. eight inches were as wide as they made those round spoke wheels i guess that is as wide as f + h could make them with the tools that they had. i have a wk-40 that has 15-32 tires on eight inch wide round spoke wheels.

That sounds right for the rims that you have. Its going to be mighty slow and powerful on 28"s. If it were mine, I think I would try to find a set of 36 inch rims, and put 11.4 36"s on it. It would move out a little faster, I"m talking about a top speed of maybe 4.5 MPH opposed to maybe 3.75 MPH. Doesn"t sound like you will be needing the extra power that the 28"s would give you. Tires are going to cost and arm and leg, regardless of the size. I haven"t bought any for a few years.
