Took my newly restored 1935 F12 out for a good hour long ride. Sure I was only going 3.5 mph, but it was great!! Problem: Ten minutes into the ride, my oil pressure needle was at the center of the gauge. (the gauge is a replacement that I got from Rice's.) Ten minutes later I check and now the needle is almost at zero on the gauge. No major oil leaks, and I didn't notice any change in the engine. Ran her for another half hour with the low oil reading. Should I be worried? Does anyone know what this gauge should indicate?? (there are no numbers on the gauge). How can I better check oil pressure???

could be your oil pump. did you put a gasket on the oil pump to the block? could also be oil filter base. there is a spring and a small topedo piece in the base [or a ball]. the spring could be bad. had that with mine. seems unlikely gauge is bad , but could try another. pg

Oil level is good. What PSI should I look for on an F-12?

You should have oil pressure at a minimum of 10 psi. Are you using 30wt oil? Hal
PS: Put a calibrated gauge on and check the pressure when cold and see if it drops off as the engine warms up. Hal

I"m pretty sure I lost pressure as it warmed up, what could that indicate?

You need to replace your current gauge with a calibrated gauge that's graduated in psi to see what your oil pressure is. I wouldn't run the engine until I found what the pressure is, you could damage the engine if you've lost oil pressure. Hal

PS: How's the oil level in the pan?
