I can get a sickle mower for a Cub for a song and would like to put it on my Super A or put it on my B. The A would be better, hydraulics, etc. I could do some alterations, but don't want to do too much. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Del: No the Cub mid mount mower will not work on an A or SA. Sure the mounting could be modified, but that is the small problem. Cub pto turns the oposite direction from the others. Since the pitman drive flywheel is threaded onto shaft, one has left hand thread and the other right hand thread. That my friend is your big stumbling block.

The 16A mower that HAS mentions having is a rear mount mower designed for A and SA. That is the same mower as scotty has.

I have one for sale that is mounted on my A right now. It is an IHC 16A and is in working condition. If you are interested, e-mail me - as you have yours blocked. I'm near Oklahoma City.

Will it fit?

Nope... all the mounting hardware is different. From what I have observed and what I have seen on my Cub mower and in the manuals for the A and SA, it will require a lot of alterations.

Best to find one specifically for an A.

Del, I would think it would require quite a few alterations. Im not sure it would be worth the effort. I redid a rearmount sickle mower for my A a few years ago and picked it up pretty cheap. Needed new rockguards and cutter bar which was way more than I payed for it! I would like to eventually have a mid mount mower for my Super A so I could take advantage of the hydraulics. I would keep looking IMHO.
