Just got my Farmall 350 diesel back from having the engine ovehauled. Runs very good but doesn"t start very easy. Had to put another fuel pump on it and it is from a Utility version. Didn"t realize they are slightly different with RPMs and such. Also haven"t installed new injectors yet but going to. After it runs for a while it doesn"t want to start at all, it hits but seems like the pump isn"t doing it"s job. Any insight? Greatly appreciated

T.....Take her out and pull the heck out of it. The rings more than likely haven't seated yet. Don't baby it. Also, make sure the timing is right. I have a 350D dad had and until it was broken it too started hard. If fact, it starts harder now when cold than hot. It needs new glow plugs now.
Mig...you have more than exhaust if you are going from gas to diesel. The hydraulic pump is different. On a diesel is sets on the other side of the engine. You have to have all the hoses and fittings to make it work.

I just bought a 350 Utility diesel Continental motor and was trying to figure out what I will all need to put it in a row crop tractor. Aside from changing the front plate is there other changes I will run into? Sure the exhaust will need a different flange to go up rather than underslung, but I did not realize that the RPM level was different. Migraine

"Aside from changing the front plate is there other changes I will run into?"

Yes, the exhaust is on the opposite side on a continental diesel as opposed to an original gas engine, so the hole in the sheet metal for the exhaust will be on the wrong side.
