I guess I might have the only one? Got a 1959 IHC Farmall 340 with out a TA .Lost a bearing and cage. Went to Case Ih for parts they suggested I try salvage yards. The parts numbers are cage 360 496 R1/// Retainer assm. 360 499 R11/// I was told by IH parts man the same parts are found in some 460,s 300,s and 350,s. I called 2 different bone yards 1 said they were picked pretty clean on older tractors parts but $50.00 would be the price on the complete unit if they had one. The 2nd yard had one but said it was spoken for and they got $50.00 for the complete unit with the trans and clutch shaft and would not seprate any part of the unit. Was told one was on E-Bay and had a $20.00 bid looked but could not find. Took my cage to a machine shop they looked, and said it would not hold a bearing . Any ideas? any body got a unit? Any body know a good bone yard to call? Thanks, and have a Good Day..

Try Gap Tractor Parts. 1-800-972-7078. Good selection, very reasonable pricing, and will ship anywhere in the world.

Good luck.

If there's a number on the old bearing your local auto parts store may be able to cross-referenced
it to another bearing. Hal
PS: Here's a web site for salvageyards, should be able find something here it contains 16 pages.

Motion Industries has bearings for anything. If they can't find it it can be ground to OD,ID from others.
Their costs are very competative.
