Serial no. is 27963 S-Y-CC. The numbers have me all cornfused. Tractor has original factory pump and TA but I don't see anything else special. Thinking about starting to restore this one next(IF its worth all the effort I don't know) so wondering what I'm starting with. Thanks Migraine

Migraine, if you will cut from 1 1/4 ince to 1 1/2 ince out of the guide arm on top of the spindle the tractor will turn much shorter.

well the # makes it a 1959, that is what mine is. I never can remember what all the letters mean . The engine will be a 236CID, it could have TA, Live PTO, fast hitch, and live hyd. Live pto and HYD are standard. I have owned mine since the middle 70's, and used it hard pulling haybine, round baler, seven ft. roam offset plow. The 236 is a very eficent engine, I could pull a left and right N H hayrake all day on 1/2 gal an hr the Roam on 2 1/4 gal per hr. The only difference on this engine. and the 282 is the stroke. the 460 is rated 52HP, I had mine on a Dino once and it turned 63 HP.

Try again Jimmy... The serial number makes it a 1961. For it to be a 1959, the serial number would have to be between 4765 and 16901. Since this tractor's serial number is 27962, FIVE digits, in the twenty-seven-thousands, there's no way it could be a 1959...

The first serial number in 1961 was 22262, which is lower than this tractor's serial number. The first serial number in 1962 was 28029, which is higher than this tractor's serial number. That makes it a 1961.

Hey, thanks guys. This thing also has a belt pulley on it which I did not realize went past the 450 series. I've got most of the parts and engine to redo it so maybe I'll start pouring money into the thing and see if I can come out of it with a like new baby. Has a very good I.H. wide front on it and I've got less than 100 dollars in it so have some room to wiggle. Thanks Migraine
