I have a 1971 454. I am running a loader on it, with a separate spool valve. There is also a set of remotes on the rear of the tractor. Anyone know how to operate this remote? Wish there was a cheap manual out there that I could afford 8^).

Go to your local case ih dealer and buy a power beyond block for the loader. This will allow you to use your remots and loader together. The service manager wil have info on hooking this up. It is not much trouble to do.

Hi Galen, on my brother's 454 the remote on the rear is controlled by the lever behind your right leg when sitting on the seat. Comes out of the panel below the 3 pt hitch controls and above the differential lock lever at your right heel.

how many remote valves do you have. are they hooked up to any thing.

I have one set of remotes on the rear of the tractor. They are hooked up to the pump, but I don't have any other levers beside the PTO/draft control. There are two slots for levers, but no levers. Might have to post a pic in the morning.

Hi Galen, lever should be behind your right heel.
Always had to reach down to activate but most people put an extension on the lever to bring it up by 3pt lever.

Galen,
I could be wrong, but seems like I read that the knob under the front of the seat redirected the hydraulics to the remote and then used the 3pt. lift control?? I'd like to find one of the remote retrofit kits for my 424 since it didn't come with a remote..
