I need some help with putting a muffler on my H

I purchased a intake/exhaust manifold from this site a few weeks ago and have it on the tractor.

I just ordered and received a muffler from this site, but it does not fit the manifold, the manifold has about a 2.5 – 3 inch pipe thread where muffler goes, the muffler has a smaller diameter, and what looks like clamping type setup. I called yesterdays tractors and they could not give me any information.

Is there another piece I need between the muff and manifold or muffler wrong, manifold wrong anyone know what want wrong here

That manifold should have come with a standard 2" IPT black iron nipple, threaded on one end.

If your's did not, a visit to a plumbing supply place or your local plumber will get you going. Ask for a 2" steel nipple about 8 inches long. Or cut 8 inches off the end of a length of standard (schedule 40) 2" steel pipe.

You need a piece of treaded pipe first then the muffler. I always use water pipe since it comes treaded and will just flat out last.

You have the wrong muffler. It should fit the pipe from the manifold perfectly.
