It was -14 yesterday . We were setting freezer boxes for the new super wally world . Nine hour's outside in it . No noon break . Our mechanic got a slight frostbit big toe . It did get to about +4 around noon . I had a propane heater in the crane cab on high . My feet got really cold . Finally had to put on the artic carhart's . Heater couldn't keep it warm enough to keep the condensation from freezing on the windows over my head . Hydraulic's freezing up and moving like cold molassis . What fun we had yesterday !! Coldest day so far . It's been double digit below zero at night for the last four day's . Supposed to only get down the -9 tonight and all the way into the twenty's tomorrow . Keep your toes and finger's warm !!! ....Randy

HOLY C---! Cowman! I don't think I have ever seen a thermometer below 0, much less 25 below. It got down to 5 degrees above zero here in Athens, GA one time twenty years ago, just for one day, and I thought I was going to die.

Stupid thing. Always refuses to start if it gets colder than about 10 below. Finally got it started about 3PM after I fed with the old Farmall M. Even the WD Allis started without help. Anyway I set the timer to start the block heater at midnight, maybe tomorrow will be better. I was half tempted to let the dam thing run all night and think about it's sins.

I think this Siberian Express is past us Howard. At 7am it was -19 here and at 10:39 it had climbed to 24 above.

Only 'sposed to get down to 10 above tonight.

Things always take longer in the wintertime. Sorry 'bout your bad day.

Allan

Howard, I didn't know temps went THAT low. It's 41F and raining here in Smyrna. I don't think I own enough clothes to live out there. As I checked your weather a minute ago I see it's warmed up to 8F but feels like O..... ....unreal. TRY to stay warm. Don

Mine said -5 here in north central Nebraska but we probably had cloud cover a little longer. It was supposed to get to -15 so it didn't hurt my feelings.

You have more then one tractor don't you. About the same temp here in Missouri but I'm sure at least one of my tractors will start. But I'm not going out to find out. Put out hay bales a few days ago so I wouldn't have to go out in the cold. LOL.

Coldest it has been in the north country so far this year is -5 F. This morning it was zero and supposed to be getting to +15 - should be close to 30 tomorrow.

And Allan said he moved from here because of the cold??? Nah, I'm not buying it - I think it has something to do with the lack of red machines ;)

Brrrrr! That's cold cowman! My thermometer only showed about 15 below this morning, and I'm up here alot closer to the north pole than you are! First time since I've owned it my deisel pickup gelled up this morning while I was warming it up to take the kids to school. The old gasser started of course, but it was a bit frosty on the trip down to the schoolhouse!

I don't remember cold weather like this for this long in these parts since the mid '80s....

Quick- everyone go outside with a can of hairspray so we can get that hole in the ozone layer opened back up- global warming don't sound too bad about now!

Dang! And I was complaining about the low being in the 30's here in Central Alabama yesterday. I say again, if it's too cold to wear shorts comfortably, it's too dang cold for me.

Allan, We don"t need to know the temperature of the inside of your deep freezer, just the temperature outside in sunny Nebraska. Geesh, and I thought Zero staring me in the face this morning was on the chilly side. Me thinks we may be in for a long winter. This is unusual for Michigan as well. Ok, all you "Global warming" advocates, explain this one.

I'm not sure that there are any advocates of global warming / climate change. Maybe they are the people who drive SUVs (FUVs we call 'em. If you have seen them drive, you know why.) an hour and a half to work, by themselves, so they can live out here where we are willing to pay enough taxes to have good schools....

But back to the climate, the macro climate has almost nothing to do with your local weather. Did you have a really hot summer like we did ? Well, I'm expecting a really cold winter because the yearly average temperature is always just about exactly the same.

Global warming / climate change seems to be making the extremes more extreme. Did you notice that there were more severe huricanes this year ? We don't seem to be getting rain anymore, just storms. The average temperature has only changed by a degree or two. Hardly enough for us to notice, but that is what is happening.

The most troublesome thing is that no one really understands what makes the weather work. For example - any weather forecast more than 3 days out is, at best, speculation.

It certainly looks like a small change in the average temperature is making a noticeable difference in our weather.

Don't you believe the data that shows that the overall climate is warming up ? If not, why not ?

Paul, Cowman's saving the deep freeze in case the power goes out. He can get into it to get warm.
