The serial number is on the inside of the left seat support. 100-up is on the left side of clutch housing.

The serial number will give you the info you are seeking. If you send me the serial number, I can give you the year.

The silver plate located under the seat on the side of the housing is very hard to read. The number I get from there does not match any numbers on the table. Is there any other place that I can find the serial number?

The numbers probably won't match exactly; the odds of that are about 1 in 20,000.

Every tractor has a different serial number. That's why they're called serial numbers. The list that was posted shows the FIRST serial number for each year. If your serial number is higher than the listed number for one year, but lower than the number for the next year, then your tractor was made in that year.

Klinton, what is the number that you see after the letters FAA on the serial tag?

I'll have to go and check tommorrow, the tractor is at my dad's house. He is having trouble seeing the serial number. I will reply tommorrow if I can't figure it out. Thanks for your help.

Klinton, while you're looking, and if the serial number plate is not readable, look for a flat milled "boss" on the block in front and above the distributor(or mag) I think above the #1 spark plug on the right side of the block (sitting in the seat), it has the engine serial number stamped into it. If the engine is original, it is typically identical or near the same as the tractor serial number.
