How big of a deal is this? That used unit I put on my 400 when I had hay on the ground is slipping now.
trying to decide if I want to take the one I removed from my 400 when I put the used one on. Take in into the repair shop or do it my self.
leaning to the repair shop as I will soon have my hands deep into my 706 for a wile.
Whats the going rate on these?
Just think about it now rather than when the hays down again.

Your old bands can be refaced by a good clutch and brake company they rebonded mine with new material.45 bucks a few years ago.

Kelly,

Have you adjusted the bands? The IT manual tells how to do this. New bands are pretty high. I got some used ones from JP's for a reasonable price. The adjusting screws are under the little cap close to the engagement lever.

yea I did. The one band that hold when the pto is not ingaged is turned down all the way.
You know what, I think I have a NOS band for a 460 around here some where. I wonder if its the same ones? Got that for $45 off Ebay. Arnt the bands like $200 each from IH?

Kelly, I believe that the units are probably the same between the SMTA, 300, 400, 450, 460,& 560.
