Hey , What years are the X & T casting codes ? Is there a source to get a complete list or is this something that just needs to be kept track of ? Thanks ...Randy

I want to thank everyone that answered ! My 47 M has 47 in all the casting codes . I was looking at a belly pump on ebay and it had those codes on it . So it appears that it's been worked on and moved around a bit . Not a problem , I can get one a LOT cheaper than what that one is going for ! Thanks Again ! ...Randy

Some tractors right after WW II had actual dates have seen 2*2*1946 for example. This would not be on all parts on tractor. I quessed that they had someone in casting shop for a while that thought he had better idea.

A was '31, U, V and W were all used in '51 (Yes, I have seen V).
Next time through the alphabet other letters were skipped. So:
X = '52 and '74.
T = '50 and '72.

Randy: The way this was explained to me doesn't add up with Farmallgray statmemt. Z is 54 and A is 55, you can go backward and forward from there, remmbring V was not used, thus Y is 53. X is 52, W is 51, V not used, U is 50, T is 49, S is 48, R is 47, etc.

Not saying I'm 100% right, that is just how it was explained to me. I recorded that in my book some years ago. Since I don't have any tractors older than 53, I've never really given it a test.

Hugh -- R,1948; S,1949; T, 1950; U,W, 1951 (V also according to Jim Becker--if he has seen V, I have no reason not to believe him); X,1952, Y, 1953; Z 1954. Regardless of the V, U and W were both used in 1951, that's where you get out of sequence. These are in Guy Fay's books and other places I have seen -- they also match the tractors I have including a 1950 C that has S and T codes, and a 1953 H that has Y codes.

Guy Fay's Farmall letter series originality guide
has a good explanation on casting codes.

T=1950
X=1952
