What are the legal requirements to use your farm tractor in a public parade? Lots of people along the roadside and a runaway tractor...

An earlier comment was made about being covered under Homeowners. This generally is true But it requires a separate rider to your policy detailing model, value, ser number etc so dont assume it is covered

I just talked to my insurrance agent this week about that. He said that I was covered for libility under my home owners . It would also cover me if i was cleaning out my neighbors drive, as long as I was not getting paid of it.

It depends on the parade. Some parades provide insurance to the participants. Other parades require that the participants have their own insurance. However, if tractor insurance is as cheap as others suggest, it might be good to get some of your own.

Whether or not it is legally required GET COVERAGE FOR YOUR ANTIQUE TRACTOR!!

In today's litigious society there are simply too many people out there just waiting to "hit the jackpot" and make an easy buck at your expense over some real or perceived injury. And there's no shortage of bottom-feeding lawyers ready to accomodate 'em either!

Beside antique tractor insurance is cheap: Here in NY $1 million liability + fire and theft for several tractors less than $100 a year.

Now go get it!

I agree with Bob. For the price of insurance, get it. One "problem" and no insurance u could lose everything as the reult of a law suit.

I got my tractor insurance from an insurance broker that specializes in Antique Auto insurance. A policy just like an auto policy, liability, comprehensive, collision etc. Not too expensive either.

I think it would be a good idea to carry insurance
during the parade. Every state probably has different probably has different requirements. I would contact the insurance commissioner in your state and get his ruling or opinion. Hal
