was wondering If I should get a 450,and It would be more comfy, sitting higher, and better able to clutch it,?
I dont wanna drill holes in the seat post on the 6,so Im In a dilemma?

what's wrong with the old fashioned way of wiring a piece of four by four to the clutch pedal ?

Here in the UK the W4 & W6 tractors are popular with the match ploughmen and they fit a hydraulicly operated one working from under the rear axle. MJ

That is a common problem with the W-6's with the standard seat. Also from what I've heard (and by looking at the seat itself) the seat and its suspension are very uncomfortable. My uncle got tired of it, and fixed it by taking off the W-6 seat and putting an aftermarket Farmall M seat on. Because the seat is so much higher, he then heated up the frame of the seat, and bent it down to make it sit lower. Now, the pedals aren't such of a long reach, and it rides a lot smoother(still not like an M though, b/c small tires) The M seat seems to sit further forward to begin with, as I have no problems reaching the pedals, and I think it is in the most rearward hole. Only downside is that it is more difficult to get into the seat because the steering wheel and unloaded seat are so close. Just an idea.

I must admit the W6 is very different in feel and utility compared to a 450. The fit to human variability of the 450 is much more flexible.
However!! the W6 is (in my opinion) in the heart of IH/Farmall classic.
I think getting a second clutch pedal and modifying it (just behind the foot pad) to extend ~3" closer to the seat would be less difficult than changing horses. The old pedal could be kept as to keep the originality intact.

Customization has been a part of farming from the fitting of different handles on bone blade hoes 20,000 years ago, to today.

I feel few but those with showroom perfect (or with better than showroom paint and chrome, and bolt heads, and fabrics, and coolant and add infanitem) tractors would find fault with new holes in the seat assembly.
