I recently removed pistons and rods from a 350 farmall that had been seized due to sitting for an extended period of time. Needed to press piston out of one of the cylinders (the one with the valve open) in order to remove it from the engine. The sleeve in this cylinder has pitted noticeably more than the others. In reading this forum, the tractor vet mentioned different sleeve classifications by letter designation. Namely,A-D. This particular tractor has the stamped sleeves on the block deck with B,C,C, D. IH indicates they will sell individual sleeve and piston combinations at $150.+ per unit. Are there any aftermarket manufacturers who make an over sized sleeve i.e.,larger outside diameter to accomodate IH's poor machining consistency? Does anyone know what the specifications or measurements are for the C and D class sleeve designations? Thanks ahed for your input.

I can sell you one sleeve or a piston and sleeve. But there aftermarket and I my self never heard of the different sizes untill it was posted last week. I have a brand new set of M&W 3 7/16 Sleeves here from the ol days and they are not marked or anything just let her rust up a little I guess. lol JON

OH I am sorry the m&ws werent for sale anyways there going in my H . I was just trying to say that there not marked for cylinders. And I would not worry about that to much. If the sleeve is a little loose let her rust up a little and put some sleeve set on it when you install when it gets heated up it will seat. JON

Magman,

The 3 7/16 won"t work as the bore on this engine is 3 5/8. Thanks anyhow.

the only place that i have found them is thru Case I H as all the stuff from aftermarket is all for the A&B class the last time i talked to a clevite tech person who was about as DUMP as a box of cardboard rocks told me ah don't worry about it well i do worry about it if the sleeve does not fit the way it is suppose to fit then it does not fit . HE was the one that told me that i did not know how to toqure a head down and told me that i needed to do it warm and running after i loosened the bolts up while it was running. yea wright .
