Hello all, I have a question and need advise. I live here in northern Indiana and a place not to far from me is in the process of cleaning up an old junk yard of industrial equipment and a few tactors. I recently noticed when they moved out a couple of pieces of heavy equipment that there is an old farmall f-12 sitting among the equipment that looks about 90% complete with the biggest missing piece being the seat. shutters, sterring wheel, cut-off tires and rims. mag all there. but its is probably locked up. I can't get a close look at it becasue there are no tresspassing signs posted. There is also a 3 bottom little genius plow sitting beside it that apears to have good poind but is missing its culturs. I was thinking about stopping and making a fair offer on the tractor. I have seen (OR) and restored f-12's sell im my area from 900 to 1500 dollars and was wondering what would be a fair offer. I am thinking that offeing him the price of scrap would be fair, but waht do you all think. thanks for your advise

Johnathan, My guess is that they are concerned about cleaning up and the value of the equipment you described is scrap price to them, they have not removed these items for restoration so you could expect to get them cheap, even offering to remove them may get the nod. I agree with Old, if it takes money it shouldn't take much....Mike in Exeter Ontario

Well since that is probably what is going and there probably just selling it for scrap that would be a good idea. I'd guess at around $200 for it, the F-12 maybe $50 more for the plow. Thats probably more then what they would get for scrap.
