Finnaly!!! these Yahoos got this fixed. For the lst 3 weeks I have been stuck in Interenet heck. Ethernet converter, Hooked to a router and 2 hubs.
I have 5 computers around the house hooked to this contraption. Many many places for some thing to SNFOO.
I had been getting time outs and discounects every time I accessed the Internet.
So I call my ISP. They say " Your signal is good. Must be a problem on your end"
ARG, that sucks, been there before. Had a hub go bad. Starts some kind of network storm that just blocks very thing up.
I had learned from the last time. To just start isolating sections of my network to try to find the offending component.
Got her down to just my computer going though the Ethernet converter to the radio to them. Still had the problem. Changed out the converter. NO GO. Changed the radio. NO GO. Changed cables to antena. NO GO. Changed Antena. NO GO.
OHHHHH NOW I AM MAD!!!! Again...
3rd time I have done this just to save them some time.
Called him back and threatened to drive my 706 though thier office ( after I get it running) if they dont get on this.
Soooo he finnaly starts up his troubleshooting software.
After about 2 min MAX. Oh it seems your routers IP address is the same as a machine in our internal network. There I changed it. It should work fine now.

GRRRRR RRRRR RRRRR RRRRR RRRRR RRRRR . Oh well it works now.

I had the same problem. Drove me nuts!!!! Turns out that my ISP issued dsl router had gotten out of date and the isp upgraded some stuff and never told me my dslrouter needed upgraded too!!! I got a new router from the isp and like magic the problems went away.

I had a lightening strike once very close to my house and the lights went out. I hooked up the standby (needed running anyway) and waited a few hours. The power didn’t come on. Finally I called in and they told me that no one else on my line had called in, they weren’t showing any problems so it must be my end.

After a quick dissertation with the person on the other end of the phone asking how in the (you know where) it could be on “my end” when my standby was working fine. Finally, I got it through the titanium shell surrounding their brain that I was without power, get out here and fix it. The person told me that if it was on my end it would cost $$ to find out. I said bring them on!!!!

It was a blown fuse in the transformer on the HIGH voltage side of the transformer. Took a special “stick” to take the old one out and put the new one in.

Yup, must be on my end…

NOT!

Amazing sometimes how it is not the fault of the ISP. Had problems with mine, went on for over a year. Sometimes it would just flat drop me, and other times I couldn't even connect. I would call them each time, and they would get it up again by resetting a breaker. This happened countless times. The last time I called them, I came unglued, the service tech called me back in about 15 minutes and told me he had put me on a completely different circuit. Haven't had a speck of trouble for over 6 months now.

Kelly,

Calm down or you'll end up with grey hair like me.

There are other ways of venting off steam. What I do is just go buy another old tractor. :>)

I know... One thing that helps is I dont have to wade through 5 tries of cant display this page before I get to read your reply.
Comes right up now. That in itself has a calming effect on me.
Maybe I can get in on some of those last min bids on Ebay now. that was getting real frustrating.
Bid w/ 30 sec to go and 5 min latter get the Auction has ended message. Grrrrr.... oh caught myself. Whew that was a close one. :-)

Well,

At least you're smarter than I.

Couldn't get the throughput using just one upslip, so I hooked up a separate uplink on each machine. :>(

Learned that a long time ago. Setup router to dial out and connect to the internet on the phone line 1st. Just couldnt take the Lego land and my little poney icons on my screen any more and the cooking home pages poping up every time I got on my computer.
They all get there own. Leave mine alone.
