My 39 F-20 has mis-matched front hubs. One is the regular IH cast center and one is the hub pictured. I'm trying to get some information on this hub. It's labeled F&H which I assume is French & Hecht and with the casting number W276B. I would appreciate any info. Thanks

My F-20 that was my Dad's has the same front wheels. He originally bought it (1935 Model) in 1936 in southeast Nebraska with steel wheels because he was afraid the the rubber tires would "Poison the soil." After bouncing on the steel wheels for two years, he put rubber tires on it. Thus, it has this type of front wheels. Incidently, the 1938 rear tires with new tubes still hold air!

What would you like to know about it? You already correctly guessed that it was manufactured by French & Hecht. They manufactured lots of aftermarket wheels for all sorts of brands. These wheels were probably somewhat heavier that the stock F-20 wheels. That may have been their attraction. I had a pair of these on an F-30 years ago. They are not real common, but I would not call them rare.
