A guy down the road is selling a C with hyds. Only problem i can find is a leaky gasket at the oil filter canister.. otherwise machine is decently straight for it's age.

Any opinions? comments.. trouble areas to look deeper at?

thanks

The oil filter leak is likely a double gasket in the sealing groove. That is simple to fix; just dig until you find metal in the bottom of the seal ring groove. Clean thoroughly & put 1 ring back.

It's could be as old as 58 years, so, there is likely something wrong, but it may or may not be serious. No real trouble spots on the C that a few simple repairs and maintenance won't take care of. C's were good tractors, easy to work on. Hydraulic oil leaks into the crankcase if the seal is bad and can cause the pump to fail. Check for cracks/leaks in the block around the carb area, it will usually crack there first if it freezes. I have two C's and a Super A, no real problems with either. Parts are easy to find.
