Just to let everyone know this is not a starter problem. It will start. The problem is there is a clicking noise in the computer under the stearing column while not running and running. We have been told there should be no power there while the tractor is off so we are thinking there is a short somewhere. It will stop clicking if we disconnect the right side battery, which is the power supply for the computer. We have checked the battery and altenator and none of those are where the shorts are. Any help would be great thanks.

the power wire from the battery has changed location as an update you take the wire from the battery off the battery and connect it to the switched side of the cab solenoid in the colunm under steering wheel

Those relays are replaceable, and cost about 12 bucks each I think. and can be bought at most auto parts houses.usually when they go bad,you will have neutral feel on odds or even gears. I assume your talking about the square plug in relays on the sentury controler.

Read all this first and check the last first. Well I found my diagrams, check the sentry power wire to see if its off the right or left battery or if it has been rerouted to the battery connection on the starter. This wire powers the right side fuse block and the bottom 10A fuse on the left side. Make sure that the bottom left 10A fuse and the 2nd from the bottom right side 10A fuse are both in good shape and not melted in the holder. These two power up the controller. If you have a test light (meter would be best to see if there is 12V) check for power in the connections to the controller. In one plug there is a RD/WH from the right fuse and from the left fuse there is a RD/BK in the other plug. The plug with the RD/BK has a RD wire that is keyed power. Check for a good ground, in the plug with the RD/WH has a BK ground wire and there is also a single BK ground wire and they run to the RIGHT HAND BATTERY GROUND. (I forgot about that) You might have a loose or dirty ground connection on the frame and battery if not a bad wire. Its not a nice spot to get to so make sure you have a good flash light. Let me know what you find.

Is it coming from one of the relay's on the controler for the sentry system. When you say the right battery, is that the right side when your sitting in the seat? The left battery is usually the one that has the power wire for the sentry that can cause trouble. This wire is rerouted to the battery connection on the starter. I can't see what the right battery would be doing that the left one couldn't do. I think I still have the wire diagrams here from the other weekend I was getting a 5088 to shift right if this is the problem area and if you need help.

Sorry I should have been a little more clear, yes it is the right battery while sitting in the seat or left if looking at the tractor from the front. Yes it is coming from one of the relays. I do have a repair manual with the wire diagrams but am not so which wires to start checking for a problem. It sounds like you may have fixed my same problem so if you could point me in the right direction to fix it that would be awesome. Thanks

I don't think that these relays are replacable. I believe that they are glued in but if you can pull one out, more power to you. Can't say that I've had to try it before. Let me sleep on this cause my brain is shot after this week with Hydro tractor problems and I'll go look for my diagrams in the morning and see if we can get into the right direction. Also I hope you know of sombody that has another 50 series tractor that would let you borrow a working controller in case we need to check it that way.

I forgot to ask, are there any problems with the sentry light coming on or not shifting right? If there is would you describe it with some detail.

Use a mechanic's stethoscope to figure out which relay is clicking, and replace it. No wires involved.
