James: To add to what Jim has said, Rockford clutches became and option in mid 1953. That eliminates some of the earlier tractors in your search. Your looking for Super letter series or newer.

Then yellow and white, if original will be 30-50 series or newer and very likely 40-60.

Does it have a rounded or square grill? What size are tires, front and rear? Do you mount and dismount ahead of rear wheel? What is the route of steering shaft from steering wheel to front of tractor? You answer those 4 questions and I gaurentee, someone will nail it before I get home this evening.

Without knowing what model it is it is not possible to tell. Look at the farmalls in the photo gallery to the left. Be choosy, Hs look like Ms and there are similar similarities in other units. The serial Number (if model is known, Will tell the year, again look left to Serial Numbers. The J means it has a Rockford clutch, which is supposed to be stronger than IH productin clutches, but the statistics are hard to confirm, every one has an opinion, and the IH clutches weren't bad by any means. The abused clutch wears out. Good luck, JimN
