Hi,

I have an early Super H and I would like to put a belly mower underneath of it this summer. I checked out what the price of a new Woods 72" belly mower was, and would like to find a better solution. Does anyone know what model number of the older Woods mower would fit onto the Super H? Also, is their another manufacturer of belly mowers for this tractor? Or, does anyone have a belly mower for a Super H that they would like to part with? Lastly, is their a reference guide out there that would help size a belly mower to a Super H?

Thanks is advance for your help

Scotty

I purchased a new Artsway belly mower for my H 3 yrs ago from my local Case-IH dealer for 1500.00. I installed power steering on the tractor last winter and she is one sweet mowing machine now. No Dixie Chopper for me.

Mine is a 72" Arts way and it does a great job. Local dealer here wanted around $2,000 for a woods and more to mount it. I found a H with the mower on it for just a little more than the price of the deck.

What's a new wood's 6ft mower cost?

You could try www.landpride.com or www.bushhog.com

or www.kingkutter.com (cheapest)

Woods and artsway are the only two "belley" mounted mowers- the others are 3 pt mounted or pull behind.

I believe the model number of the 72" Woods is L306, and hasn't changed in years. You can get different mounting kits for various tractors, of which the H/Super H might be one.

There's an L306 or two on Ebay right now. Might not be cheap, but at least it'll be less than new.

I've seen a 72" Arts-Way mower, but Arts-Way no longer exists.

Don't go wasting your time searching, thinking that there's some cut-rate mower deck company that's 1/4 the price of a new Woods, because it ain't true. Woods is probably the cheapest source of new decks, if there are even any others on the market... Frankly, I think Woods is it.

So, you either pay for a new Woods, or hope to stumble across exactly what you need in used, or you build one yourself.

Art's-Way is still in business. Don't know if they still make belly mowers.
