My neighbor who has a Super MD came to me yesterday and asked me if i had any thoughts on how diesel fuel is getting in his oil pan. I have not looked at an IH diesel pump in 40 years. I can not remember how the supply pump and the injection pump are sealed to keep the oil and fuel seperate. I don't think it is from the injection pump plunger, too much fuel for that. He also said it does not miss so I have almost eliminated a cylinder/injector issue. I have not seen the tractor lately nor have I heard it run. J.

The supply pump seal is leaking into the injection pump and that seal is allowen it to leak into the engine . Remember that the injection pump cranlcase is suppose to have engine oil in it . So you have the seal in the supplypump out and the ft. seal on the injection pump out .

Thanks for the reply. I remembered the lower part of the pump was oil lubricated, I need to get my old book out and brush up on those things. Does IH still ofer parts? J.
