Hello,I have been wondering on my Farmall A how to increase the steering on my tractor so i can turn sharper. I have driven a couple other A's and they turn on dimes, but mine only about half as what they turn. I know these little tractor push walls with their steering arm , but could my gears be messed up inside?? Thank you for your time.

Another thought-- Make sure the ball & sockets on the tie rods are not too tight & have grease. Only other thought is that the differential isn't free. Don't know how that could be, but people who think they've seen everything, haven't seen everything.

Is your output arm from the gearbox bolted onto the output shaft of the gearbox[ square shaft]? Sometimes the bolt gets loose. If this is not the problem, take the weight off the front axle by jacking the tractor up & try turning the front wheels from side to side to see if there is binding at either front spindle. Check for any sounds of metal on metal grinding in the steering gear box while it is in the air. Last resort is to take the gearbox apart & see if anything is out of shape inside.

You might want to check the tires/ wheels for correct toe-in. Don't know what factory spec is, but 1/8 to 3/16 inch toein would be something to shoot for.
