B - Grill screen

I've got all of the body work done on the Farmall B grill. (took it to a body shop and paid a pretty hefty price) but it looks great. I ordered a roll of the inside small mesh grill screen for it from OEM. I'm toying with the idea of leaving the grill screen silver or natural colored. Inside of the red grill I think the contrast may look nice. I do want to keep the tractor very original (and i'm sure they were slotherd with red paint from the factory) but I like contrast too. Does anyone know if this material has some type of galvanizing or coating on it that will prevent it from rusting? Is my best bet to shoot the grill screen with some clear paint? Or would you guys paint it red too?
thanks
DJL

I've done stuff I knew wan't original just because I liked it better that way. It's your tractor. The screen is most likely galvinized.

You can leave it or paint it as it's your tractor. But, you said you wanted to make it original and that would be painted red. The grille mesh is galvanized to prevent rusting but it will dull over time. Do what you want to the old girl!
