My super h, serial 18421J, has a small tank that sits just below the steering wheel. It looks as though it was original equipment. Do any of you now what this is for? I just got the tractor, changed the oil and checked all the fluid levels. It runs great but I am at a loss about this tank, about a gallon or so. thanks.

I assume the tank isn't connected by a line going to anyplace. What kind of outlet/fitting is at the bottom? What does the cap/filler opening to the tank look like?

Sounds kinda like someone took a gas starting tank off a distillate tractor and mounted it back under the steering wheel on yours for some reason or other?

Not original. May be an add on for more hydraulic fluid. Perhaps the lines have been removed.
