Just back from the shop in town with the wheels and cleats--minus-- 50 # of rust. The primer today and the color Monday! Yipee...some progress.

You know, you are the second person to say that. I did not cut anything. They were bolted on in 2 pieces...was a nice fit. Perhaps...they are F-30 cleats????? ??? I don't know. All I know is, they were on there when I got it. I suppose somebody added them later cause I see holes that do not match. And, I am wondering whether these rims are the correct ones?? They are real wide also to match the cleats...I don't know how to check this out. I am going to make some pictures of the rear rims and send them to you and see if the correct ones are on there??

Hey Tom, Cool!! I am guessing what you have there is a pair of #15499D rear wheels with #15479D 8 inch adjustable overtires. When I first saw them I figured that they were mixed-up and you had a set of overtires for an open-face wheel grafted on to a pair of narrow band wheels, but since you said they fit nice I had to look in my regular book, and sure enough there they were. They would be a nice find in my book. Are the bands on the wheel six or 8 inch? Bill

Hey Cowman--look at the two posts by the Unforgive in reply to the Unforgiven, 08-19-2006 16:54:58
I really appreciate the information. I am doing my best to get this think back to factory specks and the Cowman's comment that he had never seen these split overshoes raised a red flag in my head...

I do not know the correct terminology but, the flat rim that the spokes attach to I will call the "Wheel Rim" Now, I had not noticed before, but this rim is 6" wide.

The rim or bank that the cleats are attached to I will call the "band". This band in 8" wide. As I said, I did not notice the 2 inch difference till you asked about it and I went down there and looked.

This band attaches to the rim in a professional manner...it does not appear to me to be a dreamed up job by someone...

Now, having said that, how does that information match up with your farmall book?

Yeah, it all looks right. 40X6 rear wheel, not Narrow Tread, tractors QC701-T99393. Adjustable overtire, 8 inch, 4 or 5 inch lugs. I don't know how they came up with "overtire" but that is what your half-rings are. I am guessing you can bolt them to the band at different places to give a little different tread width? The overtires that are 11 inch are for the open face wheels. Lots of different wheels for Regular, I see at least eleven here.
