I was just thinking that I never see a pull-type combine or a side delivery rake at the farm shows that I go to. Where are they? They were important there for awhile.

There were 4 at the Portland, In. show this weekend. Featuring IHC and had a IHC 82, JD 30, and 2 AC 60, did not see any rakes tho.

Rakes are still in the field being used.

At our past weekend show ( about 65 tractors) we had an AC All Crop 72 in operating condition and a JD 45 Self Propelled that looked like it would cut wheat. There were a couple semimounted mowers, a two row planter, cultivator, JD cornsheller and a bunch of plows.

If shows cater to antique farm machinery instead of $3000 dollar paint jobs they catch a lot more interest for those of us looking for stuff in it's work clothes instead of a shiny show.

I suspect that they are dissapearing. They take a lot of room to store, and are difficult to transport to shows and field events. Lots of town folks own antique tractors and store them in their car garage and pull them on a car trailer to shows. Can"t do any of that with a combine.
