Hello,
I've got a '68 Cub and have read a bit here and there about the Zenith carb adding a bit of performance versus the standard IH carb..

Just wondering if anyone can validate this or is this just a rumor.

Thanks,

Tony

I agree with John. If a IH carburetor is working properly, it is a good carburetor, but if not, it can be a bugger. I have changed to Zenith on more than one Cub and like them very well. They will bolt right on to your manifold with a standard gasket, but will look weird because the flange is bigger. Then you will have to get a step down hose (around twenty dollars)to go between the carburetor and air inlet pipe. You can use your IH choke lever from the back of the carburetor and cut off all the stuff in front that shows. More power, no.

Zenith carbs were used on the later cubs with more hP, but they also had different manifolds, cam shafts, and domed pistons, as well as rpm beign increased. If your IH carb is in good shape, you will not be able to tell any difference so far as I know.
