I know htis is an IH discussion but i think you can probably help my friend out. He has a Kubota L4150 and was brush hogging a steep hill when he would go down the hill his transmission would vubrate. He said he didnt notice it when the pto was off.

I was thinking maybe a bad bearing on the pto but was wondering if it could be anything else

James

Kubotas are not us, but I think it is the angle of the drive giving problems. Two joint shafts work best when both are deflected at the same angle in opposite directions. If a corner is made too tight with a trail behind unit the front joint will protest sevierely. If his is mounted, and following ground contours, the deflection over the crest, or at the bottom of the hill may cramp the drive angle beyond acceptable limits. Being careful to stay clear, and while running in previously mowed terrain, watch the U-joints for deflection angle difficulties. JimN
