at the end of my farmall 300's cerial # there are 2 letters "S" and "J". I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they stand for.

"S" indicates torque amplifier with capacity to install a live PTO. "Capacity" means that the gears, shafts, and bearings are in the tractor. The first part of that starts with the main clutch pressure plate. Generally speaking an "S" is redundant. One can see that the tractor has a TA and an IPTO. I suppose there have been cases where the hidden IPTO parts are installed but the observable parts are not.

"J" is Rockford clutch.
