Hey guys, I'm about in the middle of a job transition. I'm getting tired of moving around with the agricultural giant I'm with right now. They wanted me to move to Memphis in the next couple of months. (Great job, but too far away from my home in SE Iowa) Anyway, I'm entertaining a great job offer in NE with another company. I believe it'd be in the Hastings/Grand Island/Aurora area. Where are you guys at from there? Can you give me an idea about housing? I'd really like to find a pretty nice house on 3-4 acres with a barn or shop or two. Many of those around out there?
Thanks
DJL

Yeah, you can find places like that for sale here. Many of them are often attached to a farm or unreasonable high priced by local standards. That is pretty much what everybody else is looking for too. And more of the original farmhouses disappear every year to make room for center pivots. If you stay closer to the small towns and out of the Hastings-Kearney-Grand Island Golden Triangle you can get into one for a lot less.

yup, I'd ditto that. Look for housing in the small sleepy towns.
