Well, Dad has decided to give each of us kids one of his old 2-lungers. He has an A, B, D, G and H and I do not know years of each other than D which is a 46. All are tricicle except D, styled, running and restored to various points. Not looking at value as never would sell it but which one would be best to have around for light usage pulling hay rake, trailer, harrow, etc.

Unless you're really concerned about fuel cost, the G is the one to get. It's got true John Deere character and is a real powerful, fairly easy handling beast. D's are fun but no road gear and hard to handle. A's okay, so's the B but they are "dime a dozen" tractors. H is just a toy...too small for most jobs except mowing and riding around-no road gear either.

I was kind of thinking the G myself. It has power-trol on it but not working.

If I had a choice of which one I got I'd go with the G,D, or H but thats because the A and B are just plan common tractors and the others are a lot less common. Now as far as working them the way you want the A or B will do just fine but I would still go with one of the others and in my case probably the D or G

The A or the B, IMHO.

H is quite small, okay for raking but not much of anything heavier.

G is too big, and hard on fuel.

D isn't maneuverable enough, but great for relatively heavy tillage.
