First, let me say that I do have Guy Fay's Originality Guide, and I have done a site search for the answers to my questions. No luck. The decal set I have for my H has three decals that I am unsure of. First is an "Oil Level" 1"x2" decal. I assume it must go on the oil pan near the petcocks. Anyone know for sure? Second decal is 3x3 3/4 in., "zebra striped" that says "BE CAREFUL....". Is this the "Brake warning decal" that goes on the gas tank ahead of the shift pattern? Finally, the third is 5x5 "CAUTION" decal with nine warnings. Any idea where this one goes? Any help would be appreciated here!

The "oil level" DOES NOT go on the oil pan. I have seen probably hundreds done this way and it is becoming a pet peeve of mine. As Grant said it goes on the air cleaner cup but only if the air cleaner cup isn't already embossed with "oil level".

Grant has it right. Except I think the "caution" decal goes on the rear of trans/diff housing, just above the pto shield. If the "origonality guide" doesn't give this decal for the H, then you can probably use the "4" series for reference.

I agree about the brake warning, not sure of the other two. Different decal makers seem to differ on which decals they send. Not all of the decals in a given set were on all years of tractors. I tend not to use all of them, just the ones I consider important, such as the air cleaner and oil filter decals, the brake warning, shift pattern, PTO warning, drawbar warning. Any more and it looks all plastered up to me. Only my opinion, the "correct police" know no more than the rest of us.

I think the "oil level" decal goes on the oil pan by the top petcock. Dave.

Just finished decaling my '50 H ... here is where mine went. The oil level 1x2 goes on the air filter oil cup, the bottom. I did not use mine because my cup has an embossed oil level mark on it. The 3x3 3/4 zebra goes on the rear of the gas tank, so it can be seen by the operator. I have seen them on the rear of the transmission case, above the PTO but that doesn't make sense to me. Finally, the 5x5 caution decal goes in the top of the PTO shield. I'm sure the Farmall Police will have something to say now! gp
