If you can remember what gear you was in and what gear you was going to , you may be able to get your shifter in both rails , half of it in one rail and half in the other ,and get them both back to neutral. I know because I can do that with my M. Hope it made sense.

Yep . Set the brakes and remove the three bolts that hold the shifter on and pull the shifter out then with a long screwdriver or prybar just line the one that is not lined up with the other two and set the shifter back down in the slot and put the bolts in .If it is stiff comming out just push in the clutch and it will come wright out , oh yea do this with the engine OFF.

Tina,
The force required to move the rails might be fairly high. If two are moved toward one direction the third will be in the neutral location. The other two need to be aligned with that. Having someone rock the tractor forward and back (violently with the top of the rear wheel) while prying may do it. Pulling the top off of the transmission might be the final answer. But almost all of them can be freed up the way we have been describing. Be sure to have the tip of the shifter lever repaired to look like the one in the picture. Build it up with weld, then grinding it so that it just works is the best as it needs to be a tight fit in the slots (front to back) to prevent the problem from happening. Good luck JimN

yes, all you have to do is take the shifter lever off and use a small bar or big screwdriver to line up the shifer rails. then build up the end of the shifter lever. third party image
