I just bought today an old running gear. Thought it was a JD until my friend pointed out the IH insignia on a spindle casting. It is on rubber but has spoke wheels. Could it have been a steel wheeled running gear with cut offs and 16 inch rims welded back on? Very tight, very solid and complete. What would the color scheme have been? This has the greasable hubs and probably no roller bearings. The hubs are the large cast iron type with the square nut looking surface for removing with a wrench. Any help will be appreciated. I think these came with a wooden tongue. Of course it is totally rotted away.

NAPA can match the old "Harvester Blue" with #53 3736A. Using that old running gear would be fun.

Hi Jhb, we had 2 of those purchase back in about 1952. According to Operators manual they were available in steel wheels withs spokes or 16" rubber tires. Ours were on rubber.
Color was all red except for those big hub covers with the square nut and they where blue.
White McCormick lettering on rear of rear axle.
