The tires on my M are getting pretty bad. I only use the tractor to cut and bale about 20 acres of hay each year. I currently have 13.6 X 38's on it. Someone mentioned putting 15.5's on it, would they work? I don't really have the money to put new one's on and used one's are almost impossible to find.

Our 560 Diesel was ordered with 13.6 x 38" tires on 12 inch rims. After they wore out my dad had 15.5 x 38" BFG tires mounted on those rims. He went out and plowed with a 4 x 14" plow and in less than a day the tires were shot. The dealer came out and put another new set of tires on 14" rims forty years ago and they're still ok today. The first set had chunks of rubber missing after the first day. It looked like a mouse had chewed on them.

14 inch rim recommended. It all depends on the 15.5 tire you are mounting. Some 15.5 tires today are no bigger or wider than a 13.6 across the tire tread. new 14 inch rims in eastern Iowa can be purchased for about 175 new.

Where is the source for these rims? Do you have a phone number for this company by any chance? Thank you in advance.

In all cases, it's stamped on tire the optimum size rim for that tire, and that is the rim that will give you the very best traction and tire life for that tire in a farm field situation.

Pullers may give you a different opinion, however they are not talking farm fields. Also the guys that can't notice the difference, best have their eyes tested. They are long overdue.

You can put them on there, but why not stick with the 13.6 tires? Unless you have some already, I would stick with the 13.6 tires. If you only use it for haying, I don't see any gain by going to an oversized itre.

They work perfectly, I put a new set of 15.5"s on my MTA with a new set of original style rims and was concerned with how they"d look. I bough a set of firestone super all tractions and they look fine on there, if you nobody told you it wasn"t factory you wouldn"t know. They don"t look round on the lugs at all.

Most people are gonna say they won't work. However, a friend of mine has a new set on a DC CASE with 12" rims and they look very good and are wearing uniform.

they will work as I have a set of 18.4 X 38 mounted on a set of 12in. rims. I did it as it was the only set that I had at the time. I no longer use them but they have held air for almost 10 years. I went tractor pulling with them for 3-4 years.

Yes they will work they will not be flat across the lugs they will be round. What you are using the tractor for they will work. They may be a little harder to mount on the rims.
