Got a '61 lo-boy, with brand new tires on rear. Good paint yellow and white. Sat all winter, charged battery, added gas and she started right up. Mowed 4 acres right after that no problems. She has always been a good little tractor. Don't know why I'm thinging of selling her. But $2500,

I know of at least two cubs locally that are dead and rusting away, victims of home logging operations. The cub is a great little tractor, evidenced by their devote owners, myself included, but they do have limits and hard, hard labor is one of them. If you are just pulling a log or two out of the woods a couple times a year, you'll be OK.

On tilling, I've been told you need a cub with a creeper gear, or put one in yourself as the standard first gear is too fast for most tillers. The tillers themselves are hard to find too.

Plowing and mowing, you cant beat 'em. $2000 is reasonable for a solid running unit.

I have a 1974 Cub LoBoy in very good condition, no rust--everything original, including paint. Woods LC59 mower deck, good spindles and no rust. Used for mowing lawn. Front scraper blade. Oiled and greased on schedule and garaged full time. Home logging would be better done with an older larger farm tractor that you could beat up and junk it. $3500 OBO

Dryfly:

Where are you located? I am in the Hudson Valley of NY state. Are these tractors you mention restorable and can they be aquired cheap? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks Jason.
