Put in a larger venturi inthe carburator, that drops the manifold pressure (vacuum) slows the air down and does not get as cold as a smaller carb would. ChadS

As Scott says its normal part of life and ALL engine do it, you just don't see it on cars/trucks. Thats why on cars and truck theres a tube that runs off the exhaust manifold going to the air cleaner to heat the carb intake air

If its frost on the outside of the carb near the top its totally normal. You just notice it more at certain temps and humidity levels. Comes from the air being pulled thru the venturi of the carb at a vacum thus lowering the temp to cause frost.

Parts could be ordered from a CNH dealer last time I needed them. Unless the weight is broken on the cross shaft can usually free up the shaft & replace the spring. Will need to remove & seperate the manifold. Clean out the carbon and rust in the exhaust manifold above the carburator mounting. there are ports that let the exhaust heat that area untill the engine warms up. Even this don't solve the problem sometimes. Look in the archives, had a clever fix for this problem not to long ago. The bolts holding the manifold togather usually twist off & have to be drilled out
