If you're sure the condensors are blowing, have you checked the inside of the dist. cap for carbon tracks? You may have high tension voltage somehow making its way to the condensor and frying it. Good luck.

If your tractor has been converted to 12v and you don't have a "Balast Resistor" between the feed and your coil. You will be feeding 12v directlly thru your coil to the condensor which is a 6v condensor.

The breakdown voltage of the condensors is in the 200 Volt to 600 Volt range, whether for a 6-Volt or 12-Volt ignition system.

If there is no ballast resistor used, and one is needed, primary current will be excessive, shortening breaker point life. However, the condensor shouldn't be affected.

You've either fallen into a bunch of bad condensors, or there is something else wrong... poor connection or short in that distributor that is momentarily "repaired" when you wiggle things around to replace the condensor.

Have you ever tried putting one of the "bad" condensors back in, to see if it "works" again, for a while?

If, in fact, the condensors ARE failing, where have you been getting them?

Try a CNH, Blue Streak, or NAPA Premium condensor.
